Removed engine air filter box. Partially removed engine coolant reservoir, blocked coolant bleeder hose & set aside with coolant in it. Removed left & right valve covers & replaced valve cover gaskets. Removed camshaft adjuster solenoids & replaced seals. Re-installed removed items in reverse order & torqued to specifications. Raised vehicle on hoist. removed front & rear engine under car panels. Cleaned & de-greased engine oil residue from engine & engine compartment as best as possible. Re-installed removed engine under car panels in reverse order. Test drove vehicle after repairs & rechecked for fluid leaks. No fluid leaks found after repairs. Miles in: 86314, Miles out: 86316.

Re-isntalled removed items in reverse order & torqued to specification. Cleaned & degreased engine compartment. Adjusted engine coolant reservoir level & bled coolant reservoir. Test drove vehicle after repairs. Rechecked for fluid leaks. No fluid leaks found after repair. Miles in: 163304, miles out: 163306.

2009 BMW 328i
Mileage58,397Service Date9/24/2025Services Performed- Fuel pump in fuel tank failed electronically causing vehicle to not start. Attempted to start vehicle. Found vehicle cranking but not starting. Found fuel level in tank displayed in the instrument cluster was approximately 1/3 tank Connected vehicle battery charger. Connected diagnostic equipment & performed short test. Found fault code: " 2AAE Fuel Pump." in the Engine (DME/DDE) control unit. Found fault code: "6293 EKPS: Control Current Too High." in the Electronic Fuel Pump Control (EKP). Performed fuel pressure test. Found no fuel pressure present while cranking the engine over. Performed electrical test program. Found fuse #70 & #89 ok. Removed rear seat. Removed access covers for fuel tank. Removed electrical connector at fuel tank. Found 12.5 volts between termial #2 of electric fuel pump connector & terminal #1 of electric fuel pump connector. Tested resistance of fuel pump between terminal #1 & #2 of fuel pump connection at tank & found resistance was 6 mega ohm's (normal resistance is about 1-2 ohm's). Found fuel pump defective. Disconnected vehicle battery ground. Removed access cover from top for the top of the fuel tank under rear passenger seat. Disconnected all electrical connectors from fuel tank. Disconnected & covered fuel feed line to the engine. Replaced fuel pump & seals. Installed in reverse order & torqued all mounting nuts & bolts to specification. Erased fault codes. Vehicle started correctly after repair. Test drove vehicle after repair. Vehicle operating as designed after repair & test drive. Mileage in: 58397 mileage out: 58399

Removed engine decorative cover. Partially removed engine coolant reservoir & set aside. Removed false engine wall next to brake booster. Raised vehicle on hoist. Removed left front wheel. Removed left front fender liner. Replaced low pressure fuel line & purge valve line from connection on the top of the engine to the fender liner. Installed all removed items in reverse order & torqued to specification. No fluid leaks found after repairs.
- Disconnected vehicle battery ground. Disconnected low pressure fuel line on the top of the engine along with the purge line and set aside. Removed suspension cross support brace. Removed section of false engine wall to access the back of the engine cylinder head to remove heater hose. Disconnected charge air hose from throttle body. Disconnected purge valve line at intake manifold. Disconnected oil separator line at the intake manifold & found oil separator plastic line was broken from oil separator. Removed engine intake manifold & replaced gaskets. Replaced broken coolant hose under intake manifold. Replaced both hoses that connect with coolant hose under intake. Replaced broken oil separator. Re-installed all removed items in reverse order & torqued to specification. Added correct Jaguar approved coolant mixture to coolant reservoir & performed bleeding procedure. Checked for coolant leaks after repairs. no coolant leaks found from repaired area (slight coolant leak present from separate hose guest was advised). Erased fault codes. No fault codes found after repairs. Monitored coolant level & checked for coolant fan activation. Found coolant fan not activating & possibly caused coolant hose failure under intake manifold. Provided estimate for repairs.
